James D. Maurer, age 79, passed away July 23, 2026.

He was born on May 31, 1947, in Akron, Ohio. James enjoyed fishing, playing Euchre and Bingo, and spending time with his family and friends. He was also an Ambassador at The Woodlands of Liberty.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Maurer. He is survived by many loving family members and friends.

Visitation for James will take place Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio, with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice in James’s name.
