James H Parsons, Jr of Wadsworth passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was born in Lakewood, OH on April 4, 1944. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1963 and attended Kent State University until he was drafted in May 1968. He served in the Army as a personnel clerk during the Vietnam era.
Jim married the love of his life in August 1970, Mary Lee (Recupero) Parsons who proceeded him in death. They lived in California, Texas, and before settling in Wadsworth, OH. He owned his own business, Parco, as an independent manufacturing rep which he operated for approximately 40 years before retiring.
Jim’s pride and joy was his grandson, Josh. He was an avid golfer and shared his love of golf with his grandson and his grandson’s friend, Alex Majeski. Jim enjoyed teaching Josh how to drive and how to play euchre.
Jim and Mary both had many close friends from high school and Wadsworth and spent many vacations together. They cherished their time with Dave (Boofo) Miller, Brenda Curtis, Roger and Sandy Derhammer, Roger and Sally Porter, Charlie and Patty Miskel, Bruce and Jerri Becker. Jim also had many close golfing friends – Mike Majeski, Bill Shirley, Gary Minor, Bill Mardis, Gene Rue, Rich Lazoran to name a few.
Jim is survived by his daughter, son-in-law, and grandson: Tangee, Dave, and Josh. He is survived by his sister, brother-in-law, his nieces, great grandnieces and great grandnephew: Carole and Ken Belcher, Sarah (April), Diane (Rich), Sarah, Rich, and Emma. And he is survived by his wife’s brothers, sisters-in-law, and their children: Tony (Elayne) Mike (Katie), Kassie, Mikey, Joey, Gianni, and Maria.
Jim will be missed by everyone who knew him. Due to COVID, a celebration of his life was held before his passing.
