Janit Marie Layne 72 sadly passed away September 29, 2023 after a heroic battle with cancer. Her wings were ready but our hearts were not. She was born November 23, 1950 in Akron, Ohio and spent the last 47 years in Coventry Township. Janit was proceeded in death by her father Ralph Smith in 2021 and her mother Dorothy Smith in 2008. She is survived by her husband Carl Layne of 53 years, son Eric (Carrie) and grandson Brendan; sister Carol (Tom) Blose, Jamison (Rachel) Blose; brother Garry (Shelly) Smith, Tiffannie, Mikayla, Peyton;  Julie (Kurt),Elle, Ava, Alison (Zach), Charlotte; Craig (Kathy) Smith, Amanda, Adam (Chloe), Destiny, Cora, Ashley (Adam); brother Robert Smith, Brooke, Brittany, Robert; mother in-law Naomi Layne, brother-in-law Vincent Layne (Marie) and countless friends and family.

Janit worked at Green Hills Management for 25 years and Greenlawn Cemetery for 25 years, retiring in 2018.

She loved God, family and friends.
