WADSWORTH
   Jerry Lee Burkett passed peacefully to his heavenly home on April 18, 2022 in Lakeland,  Florida after a long period of declining health.
    Jerry was the first baby born in Medina County on January 1,1942.  His parents were John & Eloise (Morrison) Burkett.
   Upon graduating from Wadsworth High, he proudly served his country by joining the Air Force.  While attending Akron U he embarked upon his 30 year career with Xerox Corp.
    He was a man who loved to hunt, fish and listen to the sounds of nature while meditating.  The state of Ohio granted him a license to raise exotic birds which he thourghly enjoyed and took seriously. 
    He dearly loved his family and will be deeply missed by wife Esther to whom he was married for nearly 56 years;  son Matthew Burkett & daughter Monique Burkett;  brothers James Burkett, Tom (Peg) Burkett; sisters Bonnie (Dave) Baker, Kathy Doherty; stepbrother Lynn (Pam) Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim & Lois Bowers; Aunt Nora Green and many beloved neices, nephews, cousins & friends.
    His earthly resting place is Western Reserve National Cemetery.
