Jerry Dale Van Norstran, Sr., age 76, of Barberton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, with his wife, Susan, along with his granddaughter, Caitlin Horvath, holding his hand. Jerry was born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, on October 4, 1947, to the late Johnny Van Norstran, Lucy (nee Bunch) Van Norstran – Burgess and stepfather, Thorton Burgess. Jerry served his country proudly during the Vietnam War from 1965-1967 in the 101st Airborne Division.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 57 years, Susan Marie (nee Burnley) Van Norstran. He was the loving father of Lisa Horvath (Bill Culbertson), Staci Williams, Jerry Dale Van Norstran Jr., and Michael Van Norstran, along with his fur baby, Cocoa. Jerry will be missed by his grandchildren, Christopher Horvath (Dallas), Caitlin Horvath, Bobby Williams, Michael Van Norstran Jr., Chelsie Van Norstran, Brandon Horvath, McKenzie Shaffer, Ricky Shaffer, Madison Van Norstran, Matthew Horvath, and great grandchildren, Drake and Kennedy Horvath. He was proceeded in death by sisters: Deloris (Dee) Greer, Betty Jeffers, Ivory Gail Hall and brother, Gary Van Norstran. He was loved by nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Jerry treasured his family and friends above all else. He never missed an opportunity to make you laugh. Jerry’s presence will be dearly missed and his memory forever treasured.
