Jessie Margaret Aris

Jessie Margaret Aris passed-away suddenly on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Akron City Hospital.
Jessie was born on June 20, 1931 in Warwick, England and spent her childhood in the Village of Stoneleigh.
After her family emigrated to the United States, they settled in Akron, Ohio, where Jessie spent most of her life thereafter before living her final years in Barberton.
She officially became a United States Citizen in November, 1959 and worked as a Switchboard Operator for Ohio Bell Telephone Company, from where she retired after many years of service.
Jessie was an ardent fan and follower of the Cleveland Indians and loved hopping in the car and going, as she said, “wherever the road takes me.” Those trips often included visits to Amish Country and along some of the region’s less-traveled roads.
Late in life, Jessie spent a great deal of time with her friend, Judy Montana of Barberton and the two of them were practically inseparable – truly best of friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jack, Ernest and Gordon, Jessie was also preceded by her friend, Judy, who was deadly missed in her absence.
Jessie is survived by her Sister in Law, Janet Aris of Akron and by her Nephew and Nieces, Brian Aris of California, Leslie (Mark) Smallwood of Akron, Jennifer (Joseph) Hammond of Mississippi. She also leaves behind a long list of Grand-Nieces and Grand-Nephews who will remember her with great fondness.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Lakewood Cemetery, 1080 Waterloo Rd. in Akron, Ohio 44314
