WADSWORTH – Joseph William Samaco, 84, recently passed away after a long illness. Born March 21, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Juny and Anna Samaco. Joseph graduated from Kenmore High School in 1959 and was a proud, 60-year member of Local 219 Plumbers & Pipefitters. He was an active member of Resurrection Church in Medina, Ohio.

He married the love of his life, Sandra (Sandie), in 1963, and they celebrated 57 years of marriage in April 2020. 

Joseph is fondly remembered for extending a helping hand to his family and friends and was an avid golfer where he traveled to numerous courses throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida to enjoy his passion for the sport. He was thrilled he had the opportunity to golf at Firestone Country Club on its championship course and was a decades-long member of Local 219’s weekly golf league.

Joseph is preceded in death by his wife, Sandie; his sister Julie Ann Smith; and leaves behind two children, Cheryl Lynn and William Joseph (Shemara); nephew Michael John Smith; granddaughters Brittney Elizabeth Samaco and Tiffany Jean Samaco; brother-in-law Dennis King (Patty); goddaughter Madeline Bishop; plus numerous beloved nieces and nephews.    

A celebration of life will be held at a later date where friends and family can gather to honor the friendships Joseph shared with many special people who complemented his life.
