Kathy R. Barnes, age 71, was born April 30, 1954, in Akron, Ohio and went to be with her Lord on October 24, 2025. She worked in nursing homes for over 30 years and cared for her son after his stroke. She loved chocolate, watching Westerns and the Andy Griffith show. Kathy adored her morning coffee and crochet. 

She is preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Leda; her sister, Dolly Stumpf; and her brothers: Ryan Barnes, Ty Barnes and Danny Manes. 

Kathy is survived by her 4 children: Richard Barnes, Wayne Anderson, Leda (Frank) Mumford and Joshua Ware; her grandchildren: Richard (Hayley), Corey, Courtney (Ben), Katie, Austin, Frankie and Hunter; her 3 beautiful great-grandchildren: Carter, Tatum and Hayden; her siblings: Donald (Toni) Manes, Mary (Virgil) Pickrell, Renee Oplinger, Kurt (Barb) Barnes, Howard Barnes and Mark (Lori) Barnes; as well as her close friend, Alvin. 

The family asks that all memorials be made to the Eastern Road Church of God in Kathy’s name.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Eastern Road Church of God, 2600 Eastern Road, Rittman, Ohio 44270 with Pastor Faron Cole to officiate.
