Leonard “Len” David Alls Sr. passed away on October 7, 2024 at the age of 65 in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his resilience and courage in facing such a daunting challenge. Despite the pain, Len unselfishly continued to fight to give his family additional time with him and stayed strong until the end. If he were to give a piece of advice it would be study hard, treat others with kindness, and DON’T SMOKE!

Len was born March 29, 1959, to Leonard and Rita Alls in Akron, Ohio, both of whom preceded him to their heavenly home. As a young man, Len attended Kenmore High School where he was a fierce wrestler, going by the nickname “Suma”. After graduation, Len decided to pursue a career in the trades as a member of Laborer’s Union 894, and eventually started his own business, “Len’s Home Remodeling”.  Len would always say that some of his fondest memories were building decks with his son, Leonard D. Alls Jr. aka “Lenny”. He spent his later life cracking inappropriate jokes, providing advice no one asked for, and playing Angry Birds.

Left to mourn him is his surviving brother, Richard Alls; sister, Tammy Fassnacht; niece, Jenn (Bre) Fassnacht; cousin, Greg (Patty) Alls; ex-wife Leslie Alls; four children: Lenny (Andrea) Alls, Jimmy (Tammi) Dorsey, Marcie (Tom) Valentine, and Amber Dorsey; seven grandchildren, with Leonard David Alls III on his way in May; and 13 great grandchildren.

He was a great dad and hero to his #1 Fan, Lenny. He will be extremely missed by all. A special thanks to Leslie Alls for providing and caring for Len during his final years.

Calling hours will be Monday, October 14, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio.  There will be a graveside funeral held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, we will be planting a tree in Len’s name.
