Leonard “Lenny” H. Johnson Jr. N8XPI, cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 73 where he is now reunited with his father, Leonard (Len) Johnson and beloved mother, Theresa. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carla Lynn, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge, and his loving older sister Nancy of Spring, Texas, though separated by many miles, they were always in each other's hearts.

Lenny’s legacy lives on through his five wonderful children: Timothy (Tammy), Leonard III, Angela Reese (Matt), Jeremy, and David (Chrissy). His heart overflowed with pride and love and was never more happy than when surrounded by his twelve grandchildren: Jeff, Timmy (TJ), Shayla, Ashley, Kiera, George, David, Coen, Maddilynn, Jacob, Arabella, and Ethan; and eleven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to his life.

He spent 41 years working at Diebold Inc., being known as the guy everyone could call for help, where his commitment and mighty work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, Lenny was a man of faith, he taught Sunday School in the Preteen's Dept. at the Akron Baptist Temple from 1974 to 2001, drove buses for the church, preached at nursing homes, and volunteered in the media ministry from 1990 to 2005, Leonard found joy in simple pleasures and treasured hobbies. He loved his Green Bay Packers, delighted in connecting with people on his ham radio, playing baseball and softball, and loved his Diet Mountain Dew. "Others have their brew, I have my dew."

Lenny’s kindness, friendly nature, and quiet strength touched everyone he met. You couldn't go anywhere in Ohio without meeting someone who knew ol' Lenny Johnson. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community that will continue to inspire his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44310, with a visitation starting two hours prior. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
