Lila R. Garvin Obituary

Lila R. Garvin passed away on October 24, 2023. She was born on December 13, 1927, in New Martinsville, West Virginia and raised in Marrietta, Ohio.


She worked as a cocktail waitress at Chet-O’Kelley’s and then in food service at Akron General Hospital and Canal Place. Lila enjoyed playing Bingo and going to casinos. A resident for 5 years at Pleasant View Nursing Home, she brought humor to all around her.


Lila is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, David; and stepson, Randy.


She is survived by her son, Richard (Vivian) George of Wadsworth; daughter, Patricia (Steven) Bradley of Scio; daughter, Susan (Tim) Bucksar of Akron; son, Terrance George of Butler; son, Robert (Dody) Garvin of Malvern; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.


Services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton, with visitation prior from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
