Madonna A. DiPietro Obituary

Madonna A. DiPietro, known affectionately as "Mama," passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 87 in Wadsworth, Ohio. Born on July 8, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Henry and Loretta (Lally) Hendricks, she spent her life dedicated to family, education and faith.


Madonna's career spanned over 38 years at Sacred Heart School, where she passionately taught and prepared 2nd graders for their First Communion. Even in retirement, she continued to tutor and substitute, impacting many more lives with her dedication and love for teaching.


A devout parishioner of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Wadsworth, her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and relationships. Madonna was a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity, always putting others before herself.


She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Steven) Volcansek; son, Kevin (Genevieve) DiPietro; grandchildren: Lane (Juliana) Edwards, Laura Edwards, Ryan Volcansek, Jennifer DiPietro, Vincent DiPietro; and great-grandchildren: Jack, Maia, Natellie, Ruby, Willow, and Rowen. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Ray (Darlene) DiPietro, along with many nieces and nephews. Madonna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nunzy DiPietro; her sisters: Rose Stavec, Rita (George) Chimenti; and brothers: Mike and John Hendricks.


Many thanks to the staff of the Inn at CoalRidge and Harmony Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. The Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Wadsworth, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 am. Madonna's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to education and family.
