Margaret "Peggy" (Folk) Lipscomb Obituary

Peggy Lipscomb, 67, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at home on December 14, 2022 after a 4 1/2 year bravely fought battle with breast cancer.  Peggy was born on January 25, 1955 in Akron to the late John Folk and Helen Elizabeth Folk (nee Wahl).  She grew up on a farm in Randolph, Ohio and shared many stories of her beloved horses and other farm animal "pets" including a skunk and black sheep as the most memorable.  Peggy graduated from Barberton High School in 1973 and worked for Akron Public Schools for 31 years, retiring just before the birth of her first grandchild in 2005.  Peggy loved the beach and Cedar Point, and she'd hop on any roller coaster with a big smile on her face for the whole ride.  Her life, pride and joy were her grandchildren and she enjoyed spending time with them and shopping with them more than anything in this world.  Her memory will be cherished and she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Folk; her siblings Richard Folk, Virginia Arbogast, John Folk Jr., and Christine Meloy.  She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Earl H. Lipscomb, Jr.; her siblings, Sandy Cline of Tampa, FL and Bill (Nancy) Folk of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; her children, Cheryl (Jay) Sanders of Red Oak, TX and Jamie (Todd) Willis of Copley, OH; her grandchildren, Patrick, Calla, Kinsie and Jack, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 4-6 pm at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave, Barberton. Committal service will be Wednesday at 2:30 pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. Please arrive at 2:15 pm.
