Marilyn L. Amelotte was called home on November 24, 2023. She was blessed with 78 trips around the sun; born in Chicago, Illinois on October 9, 1945.


Marilyn was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandma to all her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching all of them grow and experience life through the decades, sharing her experience along the way with the ones that listened. She was always right and had the best advice. We cherish every moment we had with her and will miss her for the rest of our lives .


Marilyn was proceeded in death by her husband, David Amelotte; her mother and father, Ethel and Joseph Reese Davidson; her sister, Barb Neely; brother, William Bill Davidson; her daughter, Kimberly Bracken; sons, Timothy and James Shoptaw; and her grandsons, Andy Bracken and Patrick James Johnson


She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Shoptaw and Nicole Amelotte; grandchildren, Jeremy Bracken, Joey Shoptaw , Kelly Shoptaw, Sarah Shoptaw, Jarel Smith Jr., Jessica Johnson, Adam Popeko, Aaron Cunningham, Junior and Jackson Lilly.


Per the wishes of the family, cremation has taken place.
