Michael Joseph Barborak, age 89, passed peacefully at home on June 10, 2018. He was born on April 7, 1929 to the late Michael and Agnes (nee: Somerick), and was the last of the Barborak family in this era.
He attended Barberton High School and left in the 11th grade to serve his country in the Korean War. After his service, he worked for Ohio Brass and retired in 1985. He was a life member of the former St Cyril & Methodius Church. Mike ushered at the 8:00am Mass and Holy Name and Rosary member. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus # 1617: 3rd degree Knight; also a life member of the VFW Post 3383, Korean Vets, and the VA Blind Society.
Over the years, he loved fishing at Rice Lake, hunting, bowling, bingo, euchre, and bus trips, but don’t get in his way for a Cavs or Indians game.
Mike is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Cindy (Paul) Epner; grandchildren, Anthony (Shannon), Laruen and Josh.
Per his wishes, a private service was held for the family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville. Deacon Robin Adair officiated.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the EMT's with the City of Barberton and everyone at the Akron VA; especially, Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Haas and, Drs. Joseph Margaret & Eric Panzer for the wonderful care given to him.
