Norma (Weight) Houk

TOGETHER AGAIN-- Norma (nee: Weight) Houk, born February 17, 1930, in Barberton, Ohio to the late John and Emma Weight, passed away on January 14, 2023.

Norma graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1948. She married David Houk on July 4, 1953, at St. Joseph Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and was a devoted housewife and mother.

Norma was a Den Mother at St. Frances De Sales in Coventry, Ohio and assisted with the adult leadership in the Six Lakes District of the Boy Scouts. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Church in Wadsworth, Ohio since 1972, and helped with the Pilgrim Madonna program.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, daughter-in-law, Jacki Houk, and husband, David Houk Sr.

She is survived by sons, David (Janet) Houk and Michael Houk; sisters-in-law, Shirley Houk and Linda (Dick) Sorrell; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends, WEDNESDAY, January 25, 2023, from 4:00-7:00pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will take place THURSDAY, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 260 Broad Street, Wadsworth. Inurnment will follow at River Styx Cemetery, Wadsworth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
