Okey L. Metz, age 75, went to be with Jesus surrounded by family on February 5, 2026. He was born June 5, 1950, in Spencer, WV, to the late Ruthie Metz Weuthrick. Okey was a U.S. Army Veteran and a lifetime member of VFW Post 3383 and D.A.V.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya; his mother, Ruthie; and his siblings: Reva, Robert, Elliot and Loraine.
Okey is survived by his loving wife, Mary Haynes; his children Crystal, Tina and Ami (Bill); his sister, Tisha Harris; his grandchildren: Danielle, Joshua, Nathan and Owen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 
A visitation will take place Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio. A funeral service will immediately follow and be led by Minister Priscilla Harris. Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery, in Akron, Ohio.
