Pastor David James Hale, age 90, passed away on December 13, 2022. He was born in London, Kentucky to the late B.W. & Mae Hale and spent the majority of his life in the Akron, Ohio area. David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War before going on to serve the Lord as a pastor for over 50 years. He loved helping people (including driving people to church and helping those he didn’t know), meeting with his preacher friends, and driving race cars.
Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hale; daughter, Elizabeth Stark; granddaughter, Symone Denay Stark; brother, Daniel P. Hale; and first wife and mother of his children, Cleta Hale.
David is survived by his sister, Arlene Hudson; children, Eileen (Julie) Poth-Ainslie, Bill (Candy) Hale, Ginnie (Jody) Pack, Brian (Caryn) Hale, Bob (Amanda) Hale, and Jennifer (Kyle) Hale-Burns; step-children, Karen, Brian, Larry, Brenda, and Pam; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Canal Fulton Baptist Church 11230 Lafayette Dr NW, Canal Fulton, OH 44614 with Pastor Whitney Owens officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. Family will receive friends from 11-12 prior to the service at the church.
