Patricia Riffle Carpenter

Patricia Riffle Carpenter, age 61, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2020. She was born November 23, 1958 and was a lifelong resident of Barberton. Patricia loved her family and enjoyed babysitting many children over the years.

Preceded in death by father, Alvin E. Riffle; mother, Mildred Szitas; stepfather, John Szitas Sr.; sister, Frances Mitchell; stepsister, Mary Ann Ryneer (Szitas); niece, Stephanie Mitchell; nephew, Jason Hart; brother-in-law, James Mitchell Sr.; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Hope Carpenter; grandson, David John Ernest Carpenter-Kohler; and their father, John Kohler.

Survived by sister, Diana Riffle (Rick); brother, John Szitas Jr.; stepbrothers, Joseph Szitas (Penny) and Robert Ryneer (Lori); stepsister, Karen Ryneer Lofstedf (Allan); ex-husband, Charles Carpenter; children, Leiha Carpenter, Anthony Carpenter (Nicole), Jeff Carpenter (Brandi), and Josh Mitchell (Meghan); nephews, James Mitchell (Delicia), Greg Riffle, Justin Riffle, Ricky Engstrom, and Luke Riffle; niece, Nicole Riffle (Mike); grandchildren, Angel, Damion, Shilah, Alyssa, Alycia, Camdynn, Brycen, Carla (Matthew), Sean, Brandon, Keirah, Caleb, and Lucas; great- nieces and great-nephews, Franchesca, Serena, Kiya, Bentley, and Athena;  those that held a special place in her heart, Anthony, Andrew, Zacharias, and Braylon; special friend, Rick Hill; mom and grandma to many children over the years; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Family will receive friends Friday, August 28, 2020 from 4-6 pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton. Funeral service will follow at 6 pm with Pastor Bobby Webb officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Patricia’s name to Cox- McNulty Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
