Raymond C. Hofstetter, age 84, of Wadsworth, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Akron General Hospital surrounded by family. He was born in Granger on December 14, 1935, to the late Edward and Ida (nee Borling) Hofstetter.
An army veteran, Ray was a barber for 40 years and owned a barbershop in Richfield before retiring. He loved to keep up with his classmates at Highland High School and attend class reunions. Ray spent his spare time fishing, viewing animals at the fair every year, and working on old tractors and vehicles.
Ray will be truly missed by his wife, Diana Hofstetter (nee Zele); children, Tammie Clark (Ed), Terrie Hoisington, Jeff Hofstetter (Kathy); grandchildren, Laura Kallback, Paul Clark, Megan Pucek, Bradley Hoisington, Alicia Frazier, Justin Hofstetter; siblings, Bob Hofstetter, Norma Becker, Tom Hofstetter; his five great grandchildren; and many beloved friends and family members. He was preceded in death by siblings Ed Hofstetter, Dan Hofstetter and Frieda Swain.
Ray will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 29 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery during a ceremony for close family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Medina County Animal Shelter.
