Richard “Dick” Haney, age 82, was born and raised in Barberton, Ohio. He graduated BHS Class of 1962 and played in the high school band. Richard served in the Navy abord the USS North Hampton as a radio dispatcher during the Cuban Missile Crisis. 

He retired from the Barberton Post Office as a letter carrier and was a member of the Civitan and Chippewa Rifle Range. Dick loved his Harley and hunting.

Dick is preceded by his wife, Anita. He is survived by his children: Ricky Haney, Ebby Haney and Chrissy Bishop; his grandchildren: Timothy Haney, Daniel Haney, Dakota Wellman, Jordan Kimber and Gracie Haney; as his great-grandchildren: Nash Haney and Alyssa Carpenter. He will be missed by all of his friends from Hanic’s and the Pine. 

Visitation will be held Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cox-McNulty Funeral Home at 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m.
