Robert Michael Firis (81) passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Rose Firis, and brother, Jim Firis. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Jill Firis.  He is also survived by his son, Brian (Deneen) Firis; daughter, Carla (Daniel) Muller; and grandsons, Matt and Cal.

Bob was a 1960 graduate of Barberton High School and a 1964 graduate of Ohio University. He enjoyed a successful career in public relations and marketing, including employment with the Summit County Sheriff's Department. His career offered opportunities to reside in various locations and lifelong friendships were made in every locale along the way.

Besides his family, his greatest passion was organic gardening. He spent many hours in his personal garden and was also awarded Volunteer of the Year for his gardening service at Hale Farm & Village. He was a foodie and enjoyed cooking and trying new foods. He also enjoyed a good card game with friends and a cold beer on a hot summer day. 

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held in the coming months. In the meantime, we ask that a simple gesture of kindness be offered to another in Bob's memory.
