Ronald J. Lauer, 68, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2020. Ron had been under Hospice care.
Born May 12, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, he spent most of his life in Lake County.
Ron was a devoted and adoring husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. He enjoyed all sports and loved talking about sports with his nephews, as well as collecting sports memorabilia. He loved all of the Cleveland sports teams, but he will be most remembered as an avid and unwavering Browns fan.
Ron graduated from Eastlake North High School in 1971 where he wrestled and played football. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1974 as a Buck Sergeant at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD, and was an Ironworker for Local 17 in Cleveland from 1974 to 2004.
Ron married Georgiann M. Hurtack on June 4, 1977 at St. William Catholic Church in Euclid, Ohio; they were married 43 years.
Survivors are his loving wife, Georgiann of Painesville Twp.; sister, Cindy (Chuck) Janasik of Chesterland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances Lauer; sister, Lynn (Chuck) Janasik; brother-in-law, Joseph Liptensky; and nephews, Chad Janasik and Matthew Liptensky.
