Ruby Eloise Reeves (Elliott), passed away March 11, 2021. She was born April 3, 1927 to Clyde and Ethel (Parks) Elliott and was a lifelong Barberton/Clinton resident. Ruby was a proud graduate of BHS and went on to work and eventually retire from, "The Chemical" (PPG). She married Bill Reeves of Monterey, TN after he settled in Barberton upon his return from serving in the US Navy during WWII. They enjoyed 50+ years of marriage doing many things like flying, boating, motorcycle riding, square dancing, and traveling until Bill's passing in 2007. Ruby was a member of Barberton Church of Christ and an Eastern Star. Through the years, she participated in pastimes like painting, calligraphy and vegetable gardening. She loved the Appalachian Mountains, was always of pleasant demeanor, and was up for any activity whether it be dinner or a vacation, especially with family and friends she loved. Ruby was especially close to her sister-in-law Elizabeth Reeves and niece, Linda Reeves, who both preceded her in death. She also loved animals, whether they be her dogs, cats, or pet calf, Matilda. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruby is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, church family and her cat, Honey. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave in Barberton with Pastor Keith Welsh officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Barberton Church of Christ 984 Robinson Ave. or a local animal shelter of your choice.
