Sandee A. Smiley, age 78, passed away June 7, 2026.

She was born August 19, 1947 in Barberton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Barberton High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. She retired from First Merit Bank after many years of service.

Sandee enjoyed spending time at the beach, especially Portage Lakes, and soaking up the sunshine. She loved her family and animals most of all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Josephine Zsely. Sandee is survived by her husband, William Smiley; sons, Scott (Jennifer) Smiley and Billy Smiley (Christina Rady); grandchildren, Alexandra and Monica (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Carson and Kaiden; brother, Michael (Pamela) Zsely; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation for Sandee will take place Monday, June 15, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio. Funeral services will take place immediately following at the funeral home, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
