Sandra M. (Frank) Nervo, age 65, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2025. Sandy worked for forty-one (41) years as a nurse’s aide at St. Edward’s Nursing Home in Fairlawn, Ohio. Advocating for the dignity and respect of the elderly was the hallmark of Sandy’s career and defined the person she was to all her family and friends. Sandy was always ready to give a stranger the coat off her back and followed in her parents’ footsteps to make sure that the less fortunate in our community had warm clothes to wear and food in their pantries. We should all aspire to touch as many lives as Sandy has and even though her life was shorter than we would have liked, she made the most of her days on Earth and touched the lives of so many that never even knew her name.
Preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Veronica Frank, those left to mourn her passing are her aunts and uncle, Caroline (Michael) Weigand and Mary Lou and Eugene Frank; her cousins, Lesley Weigand-McCauley and Amy Weigand Griffin and her son, Jacob M. Nervo.
Mass and Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Barberton, Ohio at 10:00 AM with internment at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy’s memory can be made to Friends in Tents and Community Outreach, 594 5th St., N.E., Barberton, OH 44203.
