Sara Ann (Tonya) Lippert Obituary

Sara Ann (Tonya) Lippert Obituary

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the angels came down and escorted Mom to heaven. Born as Sara Ann Tonya, she was the second oldest of 9. At a young age, she discovered music and began playing the piano. It was her first true love. She started playing while in school at St. Augustine in Barberton. A very gifted musician, Sara played for many soloists, choirs, and concerts. Sara continued her study in music at Akron University. She decided that playing for God and the Church would be her life’s work. Sara played at St. Sebastian’s, St. Austine and most recently Prince of Peace in Barberton. She played at many weddings, funerals and other special occasions. Her true talent was her ability to accompany singers. And she absolutely loved playing for the choir. Later in life, Sara worked in pre-schools as a music teacher. She loved kids and loved being a teacher, often making up clever songs to help the kids, including her grandchildren, learn their addresses and other things.

Sara is preceded in death by her son, Andrew Lippert. She is survived by her daughter, Laura; her grandson, Xavier; her granddaughter, Analise; her loving sisters, countless nieces, nephews and even a few great-nieces and nephews that she was absolutely thrilled over.

Over the years, Sara has made a lot of beautiful friends but especially Donna Lovas. Donna, the family would like to thank you for being there, your unwavering support means more than you ever know. The family would like to also thank the following: Dr. Andrew Haas for all of your years of excellent care; the doctors, nurses and staff at Summa Barberton for their care of Mom while she was in-patient care; the staff at T2 at Summa Akron City Hospital, thank you for your world class care. Everyone was beyond amazing. The family wishes to thank everyone personally and the Hospice floor at Akron City, thank you for the dignified, loving and compassionate care of our mother and ensuring her comfort while she waited for the angels.

A Memorial Mass will take place Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish, 1263 Shannon Ave, Barberton, OH 44203.
