Shannon Jamale Christian

Shannon Jamale Christian departed this life on June 6, 2026.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on July 9, 1985, Shannon was the beloved son of June Christian and Larry Christian. At a young age, he moved to Ohio, where he was raised and later attended Barberton High School, forming many lifelong friendships along the way.

Shannon was known for his caring heart and his love for family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his sons and creating lasting memories with them. Shannon had a passion for helping others and found fulfillment in being a caregiver. He also enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends.

Shannon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carrie Mims and Horace Mims Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Lauren Mickens; his uncles, James Mims Sr., David Christian, and Anthony Christian; his aunts, Barbara Mims, Cindy Mims, Mary Mims, and Sarah Henderson; and his sister-in-law, April Mims.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, June Christian and Larry Christian; his beloved sons, Jamale James Christian and Javon Robert Christian; Sarah Ann Wade, the loving mother of his sons; his sister, Keyanna (Michael) Ellis; his brothers, Terell (Paige) Mims, Jamar Christian, and Larry Christian Jr.; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Shannon’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio, with funeral services to follow immediately.
