Stephanie J. Giegel Obituary

Dr. Stephanie J. Giegel, née Bisko, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Wadsworth, Ohio, from natural causes on January 5th, 2026.

Born June 18th, 1955, in Manhattan, New York, she earned her B.S. in Biology from Rutgers University and her Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University. Stephanie built a distinguished career as an anesthesiologist, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and medical teams to provide skilled and compassionate care to countless patients.

Throughout her life, Stephanie called many places home, including Manhattan, Holmdel, New Jersey, Arlington, VA and Wadsworth, Ohio. She had an adventurous spirit and a deep love of travel, always eager to explore new destinations and experience the beauty and wonder the world had to offer. A lifelong learner, she was an avid reader whose curiosity never dimmed. She was also a devoted lover of art, finding joy, inspiration, and reflection in museums and galleries.

Stephanie had a tender heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs. Her sweet morkie, Meg, was her constant companion and source of comfort and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Charlotte Bisko, her husband, Gregg Giegel Sr., and her step‑daughter, Katherine Giegel. She is survived by her loving daughter, Stephanie Skordeles; her devoted son, Gregg Giegel Jr.; her step‑daughter, Kelsey Raudszus; granddaughters Sophia, Julia, and Grace Skordeles; step‑granddaughters MacKenzie Watson and Willow Raudszus; and step‑grandson Kai Raudszus.
