Uno L Ekstrand

Uno L. Ekstrand, age 95, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Olof and Alma (Erickson) Ekstrand; brother, Einar C. Ekstrand; and beloved wife, Betty J. (Cornell) Ekstrand.
Loving father of Tim (Barb), Terry, Tom (Carol) and Judy (Mark) and cherished "Boompa" and "Great Boompa."
U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving aboard the USS Nashville CL43 and the USS Graylag Aux Minesweeper 364 earning a purple heart and 7 battle stars in the Pacific Islands and the Philippines. He enjoyed fishing the islands of Lake Erie (Marblehead Lighthouse) and kept busy in his workshop. The last of true "finish carpenter," always paying attention to detail.
Visitation Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth, OH 44281. Service Thursday at 11:00 am with Chaplain Buck Wilford officiating, followed by interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. "Red, Right and Return."
