Wayne L. Schoonover Obituary

Wayne L. Schoonover, age 90, passed away February 1, 2025, after a brief decline in health. He was born October 26, 1934, in Jefferson County, Ohio. He is a veteran of the Korean War and a longtime member of the victory chapel. Wayne enjoyed being outdoors with the wildlife and his Cobey. 


He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alma; his wife, Louise; and his two brothers: Ray Gene and Milton. Wayne is survived by his twin daughters: Cynthia (Kevin) Stutler and Christina (Larry) Cottrill; stepdaughters: Kathryn (Jeff) Stevens, Karen Stetz and Connie Hastings; his sister, Dorothy Kovacs; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 


Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44310 and a burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273.
