Willard "Red" D. Stutler

On the evening of April 2, 2022, Willard D. Stutler passed away at the age of 87. He was born to Mack and Ella Stutler on June 4, 1934. The youngest of four brothers, he was affectionately known by friends and family as “Dewyane” or “Red”. Dewyane grew up in Creston, WV before moving to Barberton, OH at the age of 17. Dewyane married Janice (nee: Shimer) in 1954 and together they raised four children. He was an avid outdoorsman and an Indians fan. Red worked at Babcox & Wilcox, where he retired in 1993. In his later years, he found pleasure in long drives and mowing the grass. His spontaneous visits to friends, family and neighbors were never left without a sweet treat or quirky gift that made him think of you.

Dewyane is preceded in death by his father, Mack; mother, Ella; wife, Janice; brothers, Mack Jr. (Darie) and Ralph; and son-in-law, Donald Pritchard. He is survived by his children, Sherry Sullivan, Kathy Pritchard, Terry (Kathy) Stutler, and Bethany (Jeff) Biagetti; brother, Bradley (Bethel); brother-in-law, Richard (Marsha) Shimer; sisters-in-law, Blanche Stutler and Susie Alvarez; and companion, Jerry Shortridge and her family. He lived to see his family grow to include six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and all of those who recognized him as “Grandpa Red”.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on THURSDAY, April 7, 2022 at Cox- McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Avenue, Barberton. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
