William H. Hupp Jr., 85, of Akron, OH went peacefully home to his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2020. Bill was born in Dexter City, OH on May 19, 1934. Bill is survived by his children, Karen (Ron) Orndorf, Joyce Rodgers, Gary (Mary Ann) Hupp, Laurie Tucker, Mark (Elizabeth) Hupp, Christine (Dave Johnson) Haymond, and Derek Hupp; his ex-wife Janet (Madjerich) Hupp; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Hupp Sr. and Maxine (Mills) Clements; brother, Jeffrey Hupp; sisters, (Mary) Jane Brown and Linda Smith; precious great-granddaughter, Iliana and son-in-law, Timothy Tucker.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Korean War. He was a very skilled and sought after Heavy Equipment Operator and helped with the construction of Tower City and Jacobs Field in Cleveland, and the Akron Aeros Baseball Stadium in Akron, Ohio. Bill was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 18), and had recently received his 60 year membership pin. He enjoyed his work and loved to share his knowledge and memories with family and friends. Most of all he was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all.
A Graveside Service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio on Saturday April 11, 2020 at 11:00 am where friends and family may gather.
