Myrtle M Erbe

Myrtle Marie (Wensyel) Erbe, of Sugarcreek, Oh, was called home to be with Jesus on February 17, 2017. Myrtle was a firm believer in the power of prayer and it was by prayer that she was sustained in her hope and peace throughout the struggle with her illness. She was an active member in several Church of God congregations throughout her life, most recently Barberton and Barrs Mill (Sugarcreek, OH).  She loved the Lord, loved people, and had a special way of expressing that love.  

Myrtle was born October 25, 1934 in Bridgeport, OH to the late Cecil Elwood and Thelma Naomi (Kilgore) Wensyel.  Also, preceding her in death was brother, Robert Wensyel; brother, Cecil Wensyel; sister, Dorothy (Wensyel) Williams; sister, MaryLou (Wensyel) Trouten; and sister, Nancy (Wensyel) Abbott.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Charles (Chuck) Thomas Erbe I.  Myrtle and Chuck were married March 27, 1965. For the last 30 years, they have been practically inseparable, working and enjoying retirement together. Other surviving relatives are daughter, Stephanie (Brock) Barnhouse; son, Charles (Barbi) Erbe; granddaughter, Jessica (Bryan) Bradshaw; granddaughter, Leah Erbe; granddaughter, Sadie (Tristan) Keeling; grandson, Parker Barnhouse; grandson, Laban Erbe; granddaughter, Jenna Barnhouse and great-granddaughters, Emma and Sawyer Bradshaw.  Also, sister, Betty (Wensyel) Anderson; sister, Helen (Wensyel) Green; brother, Jack (Evelyn) Wensyel; sister, Gloria Jean (Ken) (Wensyel) Fowler; and many other family and friends. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Tuscarawas County Hospice. Your care for Myrtle was outstanding. Memorials can be made to Tuscarawas County Hospice in her name. 

Family and friends may call on Monday February 20, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00pm and a Celebration service to be held on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at 11:00am with viewing an hour before. Calling hours and service will be held at the Barberton Church of God, 885 Summit St N, Barberton, OH. Myrtle will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. Rev Charles Erbe and Rev Brock Barnhouse will officiate.
