Wilma Florence (Sanders) Greco

Wilma Greco 1931-2016
 
            Wilma Florence Greco, born in Waynesburg, Kentucky in 1931, one of 11 children born to Nicholas and Nora Sanders, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on August 26, 2016 in Green, Ohio after a brief illness. 
            Wilma moved to Akron, Ohio in 1949 where she met and married Vernon Holland.   Wilma and Vernon were married for 21½ years and had six children.  
Wilma went on to become a hairdresser and practiced as a beautician in various shops in the Akron area before opening her own salon in Coventry Township in 1967.  Wilma continued to work until her retirement in 1981.
            In 1973, Wilma was married to Bob “Smokey” Stover, and they remained married until his death in 1979.
            In 1980, Wilma married Russell Ettore Greco of Akron, Ohio, and in 1981 they retired and moved to the New Port Richey area of Florida.  Russell passed in 2006, and in 2010, Wilma moved back to the Akron area to be with her children and her sister Mary.  Wilma was a member of Grace Church in Norton.
            Wilma is preceded in death by her grandson, Dustin Perritt.  She is survived by her children:  Karen (Tim) Egert, Patty (Jim) Perritt, Cynthia (Roger) Mitchell, Michael (Diane) Holland, David Holland, and Pastor Michelle Notardonato; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and her sisters, Mary Smoley and Wanda Buuck of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and brother Patrick Sanders of Stanford, Kentucky.
            The family would like to acknowledge the service and care provided by Crossroads Hospice of Northeast Ohio.
            In addition, our sincerest gratitude goes to both the staff and residents of Greenview Inn in Green, Ohio for their exceptional kindness, and the love that they showed to Wilma and her family.  We are truly overwhelmed. 
    Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton with Pastor Dan Gregory officiating.  Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service at 12:00 PM.
